So, you wouldn't really be able to call somebody obese if they has 7% body fat and still had a reading of 29.8 on BMI scales.
The reason for asking was because on Yahoo, I saw an article about the fatttest states.

Your thoughts?
I just made up numbers by the way. This is not at all me.

BMI is all garbage.

You have valid comments....but the individuals with 7% fat and masses of muscle are the exception. BMI is in general a fair assessment of obesity in a population. For an individual, it can be misleading as a single measure....a good doctor will use it in conjunction with a visual exam and body fat % to assess whether the person's build is acceptable compared to their weight.

I think BMI is inaccuarate for so many reasons.....it should be obsolete by now.
But body fat testing is still a fairly new concept to a lot of doctors......they refer to the BMI like it's gospel. Even if a guy like you comes into their office with his six pack and not a shred of fat on his body they look at their chart, shake their head and tell you to lose weight....morons.
Sorry that BMI has categorized you as almost obese when you are clearly extremely athletic and muscular.
