Oh my goodness the sounds so cute! Try to give her 2 30min. walks every day. You can also try to get her to use the treadmill. Dogs really should get exercise every day. You also need to feed her less. I would give her 3-4 cups a day.

take her for longer walks.. play with her in the garden.. cut down her meals .. a few things that may help..
i tend to walk my dog 30 mins am and an hour pm. he is a lab. i feed him twice a day but not until he has had a walk

At ten years i wouldn't push her much on the exercise, just the normal walks. Use a weight loss food and make it a good food. You may try more but shorter walks, I wouldn't stress her though.

Longer walks and less food until the dog loses weight is the best thing, and consult your vet and a trainer to see what they think would be a good plan of action for slimming down your dog.

I have a 10 year old min pin who was over weight when I got her about 3 months ago. She does the same thing I switched her diet to raw diet but even if you do not do that a grain free 30 percent protein diet would be good for a senior dog. Then stop with treats I give my dogs carrots and broccoli for treats they love them but ifs not filled with fatty omega 6 and grain fillers. Also she will sleep all day if I would let her, but I do not I get her up and take her to the dog park she does not play but she is up and wandering which with that old of a dog is exercise. She also get 3 15 minute walks a day whether she really wants to go or not she was 12.8lbs and in 3 months at 11.2 and dropping. Doctor says her ideal weigh with her size should be about 8 -9 lbs.
Orignal From: I have an obese dog, and all she does is sleep all day. even after I take her for walks. What can I do?
