Is God keeping this person around because I'm going to the wrong church ?

Is God keeping this person around because I'm going to the wrong church ?A close friend of mine claims an aneurysm was discovered on an X-ray in 1999 after a car wreck. He has not had surgery or treatment for it. If this is true, how is it that it hasn't disected. He also had gotten "messages from God" in the past that he was going to pass away in a certain month, which didn't happen.

I am going to a church he considers to be legalistic and has been trying to get me out of it for years. If his sicknesses are genuine, is God keeping him around because of this? He used to call me on the telephone every night and we talked for about three to four hours (not always about my church) and I was getting annoyed (see Proverbs 25:17).

He also has had for many years:

Congestive heart failure
Severe asthma
Cellulitis of the legs
Sleep apnea
Obesity (well over 300 pounds)

Given all these conditions at once, how has he survived for so long unless it's for the reason I stated? Since 2002 he had kept telling me his time was "short" until two years ago. He has stopped telling me that because he knows I won't believe him. Am I wrong in being skeptical about his sicknesses. He is now 65 years old.

I'm a Christian. Many people in poor health can survive for a long time. Your decision of what church you attend should not be based in one persons opinion, but what you believe concerning the trust of the scripture.

I believe that, until our purpose is fulfilled, we won't die. Whether your friend's purpose is getting you into a new church or not, I can't answer. he probably can't, either.
People can live for years with aneurysms, as well as the other health issues you mentioned. he should be taking better care of himself, losing weight and making the most of his life, but maybe to him, trying to "help" you is more important.
Ask yourself if you feel good about your church and what it is accomplishing. Do you love to get up and go to it? Do you feel stronger and closer to God after services? Does it and the people there encourage you to be a better person and a better Christian? If not, then this may not be the right church for you.
The answer to which church you should attend lies between you and God. Ask for His guidance. remember Proverbs 3:5-6 and don't lean on your own understanding, but allow God to direct your paths. Few people here on R&S care about you in any manner, so take the issue to the One who truly does. he won't lead you wrong!

Whats the name of the church and were is it? Anyways maybe that is true if he has had all of that and is still alive

He's a hypochondriac and a con. If he was a true friend, he would not try to convince you to change anything about yourself, including your religious following.
Remove him from your life.
