So the question is, is the Center for Disease Control and Prevention a reliable source? Or are they just making it up?

Thanks people. Some conflicting opinions there, but nice to get views from different people.
If those government agencies (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) are releasing false data, then I definitely think we should write them a few letters of complaint!

that doesnt sound right.
i heard 1/3 americans are obese or overweight, but im not even sure how accurate that is

The phrase overweight signifies different things to different individuals. It's a good idea to start at the beginning, and ascertain if you are in reality overweight for your size or not, by working out your BMI (Body Mass Index). You can learn how to do it at the website in the box below, they have lots of tips and tricks, I lost 9 pounds by following their helpful advice.

Overweight doesn't make you fat.... if they rely on the BMI test then its BS, doesnt take into account muscle weight..

Sounds right to me. Look around you.

If its going on BMI then they probably did large surveys so yes it would be approximately right
America is a very fat country most of it is at least overweight.
i live in england but i have an american family and i have to say after visiting a few times the ratio of at least chubby to thin people over there are completely different, the food is much more fatty (granted ti tastes better i wouldn't want to live off of it i would get very fat if i did). and there are also completely different standards of fat and thin over there, in england a girl who would be called skinny in America is chubby or fat over here.
One person likes this.
Orignal From: Is it true that over 70% of Americans are fat?
