Is this right? Federal grant will fight obesity in minority women.?I'm quoting from my local newspaper. It says our town has received a 98,000 dollar grant to pilot a program to combat obesity and diabetes among minority women. I don't know. That's nice I guess. But something's not right about this. Why just minority women? And why just women? And why is this ok? If this grant was for just WHITE women, I can guess there would be quite a stir about it. What do you think?

If our governing body will use funds to fight obesity among minority women, then it is unfair. If the funds are used to find out how to educate women and children to prevent obesity in our nation, then it will be done for the sake of people in a nation where obesity is growing each time more fast foods are available; families cannot afford balanced meals, and health insurance is available to all, whether working or not working.

No matter how many times I read or hear about open discrimination against whites I am shocked. No this isn't right, and I agree with you that they shouldn't have just specified women either.
