Should the definition of child abuse be expanded to parents who let their kids over eat and watch TV all day?

Should the definition of child abuse be expanded to parents who let their kids over eat and watch TV all day? There are so many kids who need to be out playing ball or riding their bikes and they are in front of the TV or computer every free moment. They often eat at the same time having no idea how much junk they are eating, getting obese and as teens and young adults, having problems with depression.

If this isn't abusive what is?

More like neglect than abuse.

Doc or Benji please.
Sometimes I would like overeating added to the abuse. My wife watches Maury from time to time and the shows where the mothers allow their two, three, four, and five year olds to be several times over the average body weight for their age sickens me. I've seen overweight children, and while they're as cute as can be they are not going to lose that weight overnight with a growth spurt. And if they've learned at a young age that yelling gets them cookies and sweets it's going to be hard to break them of it.
