Why would anyone buy a lavender scented bedding for their small pets. Its so unhealthy!?

Why would anyone buy a lavender scented bedding for their small pets. Its so unhealthy!?I did some online research on lavender oil and scents like what is in Soft-Sorbent and the lavender oil can actually cause blood and organ changes, allergies and obesity. How can that be good?

I know lavender helps soothe the pet, but if it causes health problems I definitely wouldn't buy something with it, especially if they would be sleeping on it everyday.

I only buy it for my Lionhead rabbit's litter box because my mom forces me to (she doesn't understand why it's bad, although I have tried explaining it to her many times and she still won't listen). :(

a lot of people don't know that many pet beddings are bad. wood chips can cause liver failure, eye and upper respritory infections but alot of people use them anyway. i also use that carefresh stuff that is designed to be good for pets, but my guinea pig is allergic to it so i have to try something else
