Do you believe Americans are happier?

Do you believe Americans are happier?If you were to compare the happiness of Americans on average with that of other first world countries, say Canada or in Western Europe, would you say that America is happier than those countries?

If so, why do Americans kill each other more often? Why are we more obese than these other countries? Why do we seem more plagued by worries about terrorism, crime and racism? Why are so many more people in jail than these other countries?

If one defines the best government is the one that creates the most happiness for as many people as possible (Utilitarianism), then how the United States really compare?

And please, no snide comments telling me to leave the country or questioning my patriotism, all that's doing is avoiding the question by making lame ad hominem attacks.

I believe a very big of patriotism is questioning your country and seeking out the best answers if problems facing the country. If nobody did so, we wouldn't have a United States of America to begin with.

no, too many people speaking spanish here, too many illegals, drives up the cost of goods as demand goes up.

protect our borders, watch that latin loans are almost 50% sub-prime which is the problem. we need to be proud of our language which is English not spanish. no more press 1 to speak english
